2nd Biomass Trade & BioEnergy Africa will be held in Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel Sandton on 2 October 2018.

Tapping on Local Woody & Agricultural Resources for Power & Export!
Biomass offers a sustainable energy source that could be the answer to Africa's escalating electricity demand and cost.
The International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena) claims there is "immense potential" for hydropower, solar and biomass in Africa, and could supply 22% of Africa's total energy consumption by 2030. Global interest is currently brewing with significant portion of FDI flowing into African renewable energy development.
While solar PV has garnered much interest, the need for a greater mix of energy sources and diversity of independent power producers, could provide efficient power supply to major cities, industries and rural electrification at greater affordability and minimal environmental impact.  And while Africa is well-endowed with woody and agricultural resources, adequate biomass resource management is necessary to have effective fuel utilization in the bioenergy value chain.
Bioenergy in Africa would increase as policy and funding catches up to motivate project development.  From biomass co-firing, dedicated biomass-power, waste to energy, biogas and biofuels, Europe, US and Asia have strong cases and support where Africa can emulate.
Gathering all stakeholders from the regulatory, trading, project developing, technologies and financing, CMT’s 2nd Biomass Trade & BioEnergy Africa conference offers the platform to leap-off sustainable development of Africa biomass and bioenergy value chain.  This is a NOT TO BE MISSED event for all who are involved.
