In 2013 Ukraine exported record volumes of rapeseed - 1.5 million tons
In 2013 the harvest of rapeseed was significantly better than last year, which influenced the increase of export volumes of the product. In September, 2013 Ukraine exported 474 tons of rapeseed, which is the maximum amount in comparison with export volumes in the same month during the last four seasons. For the first couple of weeks of autumn, 2013 it was exported 287 tons of rapeseed when for the same period in 2012 was exported only 64 tons of rapeseed.
The record amount of rapeseed, compared with the above-mentioned period, was exported in July and August, 2013. Only in August 536 tons of rapeseed was sold, which is in 2.6 times more than in August, 2012.
Ukrainian rapeseed mainly exports to the EU - France (22%), Netherlands (20%) and Belgium (19%). A major exporters are "Alfred C. Toepfer" which exports 59.6 tons of rape, "Serna" - 59.4 tons of rape, "Nibulon" - exported 41.6 tons of rape and "Cargill", that exported 41.3 tons of rape.
According to the Ukrainian Biofuel Portal pelleta.com.ua, during 2013/14 MY Ukraine exported 1.5 million tons of rapeseed, which is 72% of the export potential, which is equal about 2.1 million tons of rapeseed. 1.27 million tons of rapeseed was exported last year.
Recall that the most successful season for Ukrainian producers of rapeseed was in 2008 - 2009, when it was exported 2.65 million tons of rapeseed per year.
