The UAE will stimulate the alternative energy power development starting from 2015
Dubai Energy and Water Supply Administration announced a new strategy for alternative power development.
According to the newly approved plans the share of energy power produced by the renewable energy sources would be 15 per cent from the total amount by 2030. These numbers are exceeding the previous ones by three times. Using the solar power stations will be the priority. Saeed Al Tayer, head of the Administration informed that using the renewable energy sources was economically viable and it would become a part of future economy. In 2016 the UAE will announce a tender for generating additional 500 MW of photo electricity that would allow supplying more that 700 thousand of households with energy. Mr Al Tayer considered alternative energy power to be an essential part of city construction in future. This opinion shares Razan Al Mubakar, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Environmental Protection Commission. She believes that using the alternative energy sources and careful consuming can reduce twice the amount of environmental pollution.
