    Opportunity to explore Biomass Production

Rare opportunity to explore Biomass Production Value Chain, Funding, and
Logistics at Biomass Trade & Power Americas 2011

The Biomass Trade & Power Americas scheduled on 23-25 February 2011 in Atlanta, USA, is a one time opportunity to meet and hear from professionals in the biomass industry. Theconference will feature speakers from the USDA and DOE in Washington that will provide invaluable information on US biomass policy and programs. EU biomass industry leaders will discuss the specific need for wood and agricultural based biomass products from the Southeast. Key industry experts will create a step by step guide on innovative methods to biomass production, selling and bringing product to market including financial incentives.

What kind of product are the EU buyers looking for? How do I meet the specifications? How do I finance biomass plants? What kind of funding is available for biomass production? How do I manage the logistics from plant to the buyer? In order to answer these types of questions, the European business leaders driving the consumption of wood fuels and energy crop fuels in the EU Power Industry will convene at Biomass Trade & Power Americas 2011 together with local market experts to examine the conference theme that focuses on the domestic mid stream power and energy crop business sector in the Southeast.

The one & half day conference is a one of a kind opportunity that is NOT an annual event. It will be held only this February in Atlanta and will then move to other worldwide venues. It is endorsed by the International Energy Agency Bioenergy Task 40, supported by leading agencies such as ACORE (American Council On Renewable Energy), BCC (Biomass Coordinating Council) and CANBIO (Canadian Bioenergy Association) and has secured Novozymes North America as Corporate Sponsor. It will feature speakers such as the Program Manager from the DOE in Washington for Renewable energy; the co-author of the BCAP initiative; and one of the key authors of the IB MACT ruling (although still in revision).

There will also be world speakers and attendees from the major power producers in Europe who are looking at the Southern United States to provide product to their biomass energy portfolios. The attached brochure contains all of the pertinent information on the conference agenda.

Among the biomass authorities sharing on the latest developments in the Southeast Biomass value chain are Global Green Engineered Fuels LLC, BRUKS Rockwood Inc, Rollcast Energy Inc, Process & Storage Solutions as well as Kinder Morgan Terminals. They will each provide insights into raw material selection and logistics; raw material processing (premanufacturing); biomass power generation; wood fuel pellet manufacturing including supply chain logistics and marine terminal export support.

The Program Manager for the DOE Renewable Energy Program, Mr Paul Bryan, will be the keynote speaker discussing the role of DOE policy in renewable energy production for the US and its support of exports to other countries. The co-author of the BCAP program, Mr. Jonathan Coppess, who is also the Administrator, USDA Farm Service Agency, will provide first-hand updates on the BCAP and how it can boost US’ Bioenergy production and domestic usage growth. In addition, Atlantic Power, George K. Baum & Company, and Seyfarth, Shaw Attorneys, LLP are slated to offer advice on different financing options available to investors keen to take advantage of biomass renewable energy opportunities. Other not to be missed panelists include industry authorities Idaho National Laboratory Bioenergy Program and Georgia Logistics Innovation Center, anticipated to discuss challenges, bottlenecks and new concepts surrounding logistics setup (transportation, storage and handling). Rounding off the panel is Mr. Marcel Gorris, Commercial Manager Bulk Logistics, Port of Amsterdam, providing insight into the freight market outlook and economics of ocean shipping between US to Europe.

To complement to the multi-speakers sessions, 2 separately bookable post-conference workshops on Biomass Properties, Processes & Conversion to Energy Sources have also been organized for registered delegates.
