European bioenergy market: recent tendencies and significant events
Numerous explorations prove that world biofuel consumption has increased significantly within the last decade. Alternative energy sources became actually popular among industrial companies and private households as traditional heating materials are getting more and more expensive. Moreover, these days ecological standards are far more strict than before, that’s why numerous fuel users take care of their harmful atmospheric emissions.
Biomass is one of the renewable energy sources. It’s mainly received from biological raw materials like wood, plants, manure and sometimes waste. Nowadays biomass is the 4th biggest power source after oil, gas and coal, and it’s the first alternative energy source which provides people with heat, fuel and electricity. As a result today there exists a huge interest in green energy. The demand for biomass grows early and for the time being it prevails over supply significantly. In 1990 there was created the European Biomass Association (AEBIOM), which includes almost all core associations from 25 countries of the world. This is an international organization which has a mission to develop a sustainable bioenergy market and create favorable working conditions for all its members. AEBIOM represents and unites all ecoenergy structures, moreover it has big possibilities to influence important decisions, communications and various EU papers connected with this market functioning.
