NCGA gratitude to Obama, Agriculture Secretary for support of Biofuels
The National Corn Growers Association thanked and approved the US Agriculture department and Obama administration tries on the country renewable biofuels promotion and application, including ethanol from corn. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack informed about the set of actions aimed at country economy assistance and the reduction of foreign oil supplies dependence.
According to NCGA (founded in 1957, has 35000 members around the country. He mentioned this domain would create jobs, assist in global warming consequences fighting, reduce foreign oil supplies dependence and become robust basis of US 21 century economy basis.
Talking about ethanol Agriculture Secretary mentioned the role of promotions which helped to create biofuels industry. According to his opinion the Congress should start its work by restoring Biodiesel Production Tax Credit and give fiscally considered short-term prolongation of the Volumetric Ethanol Excise Tax Credit and think about the ways to make ethanol donation program more efficient and capable to solve all the problems the country would face by fulfilling the aims for traditional and next generation biofuels. Vilsack also mentioned about the importance of higher quality ethanol amounts expansion.
He stressed that convenient store operators and don't have much stimulus to pay for new pumps and tanks, when USDA and other federal departments have the possibilities and are obliged assisting with this matter. He gave instructions to Country development CEO provide financing, resources and matching investments for the installation of 10,000 blender pumps and storage systems during following 5 years and promised such program functioning right after its finalization .
NCGA hopes such program would be brought into life taking into account U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s recent solution on higher quality ethanol blends approval in new cars.
