Biomass production project in Namibia
One of the most important components in
biomass production is the municipality wastes, especially plant residues as well as slaughter house residues. Windhoek, being the capital city of Namibia generates high amounts of waste products which are usually destined for land filling (disposal on land).
The companies's project seeks to contribute towards providing a solution to the national challenges caused by
bush encroachment by converting the invading bush into energy. The project plans to install a wood thermal processing plant, which will use the invader bush as fuel to produce electricity and Bio-fuels in Namibia. The electricity produced by the plant will then contribute to power in the national grid. Oil produced during the process will be marketed locally to the Power Plant which currently uses diesel.
The project will direct resources towards improving infrastructure, enhancing the livelihoods of rural farmers and reduce bush encroachment. It will further promote the bush-to-energy power generation which include the generation of rural income in the agricultural sector through additional bush related job opportunities.
At present the company is searching for market based Investment in Europe to jointly develop this Plant in Namibia.
