The British company Drax develops the local wood pellet market

The major British electric power station, which uses mainly biomass has announced its purchase of the company Billington Bioenergy.

Billington Bioenergy is the second large distributor of wood pellets at the British market. The management of Drax declared that the company was looking forward to penetrate into the fast growing sector of the pellet heating and to contribute to the principal direction of the industry. It was also informed that according to the company’s estimations, the pellet market would boom from 200 thousands of tonnes to one million of tonnes and probably more up to 2020. The program of the state support for facilitating the use of alternative sources of heating is part of the reason for this.
