The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has forbidden distillery plants to produce biofuels

According to the decree №319 from May 20, 12 distilleries owned by the state have been excluded from the list of companies eligible for the production of bioethanol.

This document  change the decree "On approval of lists of companies with all stages of the technological process of mineral oil with the right to produce motor gasoline mixed with the content of ethyl tert-butyl ether, or with additives based on bioethanol and state distilleries eligible for ethanol production."

As was mentioned in 2014 Michael Labutin, who was at that time Director of State Enterprise "Ukrspirt", said that the reorientation of Ukrainian alcohol plants for the production of bioethanol is the only way to bring the industry out of crisis.
