The EU refuses fossil fuels

Directors of a number of energy companies have announced the termination of investment in the production of heat energy.

In particular, the CEO of energy company Engie, which has a leading position on the global energy market, Zherer Metrale claimed that his company would not produce electricity using fossil fuels. At the same time, Mr. Metrale confirmed the intention of the construction of power plants in developing countries, such as Brazil, Chile, Peru, China and in a number of countries in the Middle East. In turn, the director of performing energy company CEZ Mr. Daniel Benesh made a statement of intent to reduce emissions by 2050.

It is noteworthy that such statements, made by the representatives of business, are in line with European policy energy replacement, non-hydrocarbon energy sources and the transition to renewable energy sources. It is expected that within the next five years, their share in the European market of power generation will reach 20%. Unfortunately, for various reasons, European consumers cannot be 100% supplied with biofuels own production and therefore industries and retailers have resorted to import.

One of the most popular types of solid biofuels in Europe are wood briquettes, which characterized by high calorific value, low ash content and almost no influence on the environment in the combustion process. Currently, the main suppliers of wood biofuels are the USA, Canada, Russian Federation and Ukraine. Wood briquettes of Ukrainian production have long been imported to Poland, Czech Republic and Germany and other EU countries. The popularity of Ukrainian products is confirmed by the extensive list of importers, a full list of which is published by Ukrainian Biofuel Portal pellets-wood.com database Ukrainian wood briquettes for the 2014 http://pellets-wood.com/wood-pellets-b327.html consumption of solid biofuels in the EU will increase, thereby giving the Ukrainian producers of wood briquettes opportunity to increase sales and to successfully overcome the current crisis.
