The CDK process enables wood to cycle through at variable rates based on time, temperature, and lumber thickness allowing you to achieve up to 65 percent of typical batch kiln production while using an existing heating system. The system acts as a combination pre-dryer, kiln, and equalizer that dramatically smooths and reduces the energy required to dry lumber.
The patented UDK (UniFlow) process has up to a 25 percent production gain over a standard CDK in the same footprint and heating system. By mimicking the most efficient schedules of batch kilns, the UDK introduces heat early into the system creating a hot steamy environment to easily release free water. Further in the system, internal baffling is utilized to maintain a hot but arid environment dropping the wet bulb temperature and driving out bound water.
