I write to inform you of a very special event on our energy conference calendar that will take place in sunny Singapore in 2010. The International Conference on Applied Energy (ICAE) is a truly integrated forum on research, development and application of energy technology and policy. ICAE aims to facilitate debate on topics ranging from energy R&D and energy resource optimization to urban energy efficiency standards and climate change policy. In today's sophisticated energy environment, we need to weave layers of scientific, engineering, research and social analysis to obtain an accurate road map for the future. Forging dynamic networks among academia, industry and government has always been at the heart of this event.
On behalf of the National University of Singapore and our collaborating partners, we are pleased to launch the Call for Papers for ICAE 2010. Based on the theme of "Energy Solutions for a Sustainable World", ICAE2010 offers a wide range of topics covering clean energy and renewables, advanced energy systems, energy and the environment, energy in buildings, and energy policy. We invite specialists from all over the world to come and share experiences and contribute towards building the framework for sustainable development in the 21st century.
ICAE2010 plans to have a number of special sessions with focused panel discussions. Tentative topics are: energy solutions for the developing world, energy and sustainable cities, achieving a low carbon society, climate change mitigation technology, and energy policy for sustainable development. We welcome papers in these and other areas and your suggestions on participation in these special tracks.
A selection of the papers presented at ICAE2010 will be reviewed for publication in a special issue of Applied Energy and other international peer-reviewed journals. In addition, best paper awards will be presented at the Conference.
