When having questions on What's Ukraine missing on its way to success?, please send your inquury!
Ukraine consumes much more energy than even such powerful exporter as Russia. And only few people think of the consequences which might arise.
Let's consider the increase of the welfare of the country if the volume of imports decreases and the shortage will be covered with oil and biofuel production. The countries such as Sweden, Denmark, Germany has long thought about it. In China 60% of the urban transport are running on biofuel, rural transportation uses up to 80% of the fuel. China has managed to recoup the cost of equipment and construction in 15 years, the great share of the economy works on biofuel.
Interestedly, raw material for biofuel production can be almost everything: industrial effluents, agricultural wastes. Biogas is a mixture of methane (60-70%) and carbon dioxide. Burning of 1 m3 of biogas can get 2.5 kW of heat energy.
Many people are elaborating on long-term ideas about the production of biofuel, but everything depends on 2 things, i.e. the lack of money and support. Now such production is carried out at the level of individual enterprises. The farmer, perhaps, would be happy to use his territory for installing the a Cœgreen power station which is to recycle wastes and produce warmth. Plus there would be a chance to sell a portion of the biomass after processing but none wants to survive some 15 years until the investments will not return.
