Farmers prefer profit to consumers needs

Farmers prefer profit to consumers needs

Farmers, seeking profit or catching the tendency, decide to grow plants which would give energy. It subsequently contributes to changes on the market of biofuels and foods.

In this regard China has once shown deplorable results of enthusiastic processing of crops (corn) for biofuels. At that time the country was in an unprecedented deficit, therefore, the activity was abandoned.

China, nevertheless, does not terminate the aspirations of energy sources usage. Thus, it began to process cassava.

According to last year reports, China bought 98% of cassava in Thailand. Thailand also had to suspend production of biofuels within the country, as the export price is significantly higher than the one Thais people are ready to pay.

Experts call for reasonable distribution of crops for agricultural products to be always affordable, even for the most vulnerable population.
