Green certificates in Poland: offer up and prices down
From the beginning of July the number of green certificates for sale in Poland exceeded the indicator of 6.6 TWh. On the 3rd of July the price for certificates was determined on the level of 235.96 PLN/MWh. This means that over the past four weeks the cost of certificates decreased by 10%.
The analysis of the statistics related to the situation on the property rights market for the period from June 25 to July 1 lets conclude that the amount of green certificates for sale is not reduced, at the same time the price for them is falling down.
Such information indicates that as of July 1, 2013 the number of certificates available in the market was about 6.65 TWh, a week earlier that figure was 6.36 TWh. At the end of May the number of certificates for sale was equivalent to 5.77 TWh.
The market responds naturally to the high supply of green certificates, their prices are beginning to tumble. For a long time the experts have been talking about low value of such property rights compared to the payment for alternative energy which is 286.74 PLN per MW/h. According to the opinion of the leading analyst of Ukrainian Biofuel Portal pelleta.com.ua Sergei Kozlov, over the last four weeks the index of OZEX A on the Energy Exchange decreased from 263.13 PLN per MW/h (June 21) to 235.96 PLN per MW/h (July 3).
