Husk pellets market in Russia and Ukraine reaches new priority

Pellets market in Russia and Ukraine

The alternative energy sources cause more and more interest both among consumers and producers. The updates in technologies allow to raise the priority of a relatively new industry in the economy.

Russia boasts powerful units that specialize in the production of pellets from sunflower husks. It is proved that briquettes from sunflower husks have the highest thermal capacity, compared to other biofuel plants. In the numerical equivalent it is about 20 MJ / kg.

Statistics show that production of husk pellets exceeds the figure of 300,000 tons. Although this product is not very popular in the domestic market.

Nevertheless, the companies introduce the practice of setting furnaces for heating with husks, e.g. businesses in Voronezh, Belgorod, Krasnodar and the regions. The appearance of such technical facilities improves the quality of primary products from sunflower, i.e. oil and sunflower seeds.

In Europe most of the thermal power stations work on husk pellets heating together with some of the electric power plants.

Ukraine is one of the most important exporters of pellet grains. The production of this biofuel is spreading actively through the regions (Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kharkiv, etc.).

In previous 2008/2009 years Ukraine produced 2.5 million tons of husk pellets. Now the numbers have increased, at least by half.

Ukrainian companies use high-quality equipment from manufacturers such as Muench, Gama Pardubize which allows a full-grade production.
