In 2015 Moldova government starts constructing the wood pellets plant
Japanese government supported 2KR program for the alternative fuels plant construction.
In Moldova the construction of the fuel granules enterprise was started. These granules will be used for heating the buildings in Moldova villages and small towns. The agricultural waste such as grapevine, tree leaves, straw and branches remained after vinelands cutting will be used as the raw material.
During the first stage of this project 100 villages will be converted where the new solid fuels boilers will be installed. The raw materials resources base location which will be used for alternative fuels production was taken into consideration during the villages’ selection.
At the first stage the total capacity of the future plant is amount to 5 000 tons pellets annually.
It is worth to mention this plant will be under government management and that makes its power capacity work for the social programs development.
