Members of the waste recycling market will try to decriminalize this branch in 2015

Of the waste recycling market will try

13% of the country territory is covered with landfill sites, dumping sites and slug collecting points. Meanwhile waste recycling market is totally in shadow.

In Ukraine the waste amount increases in 500 mln tons annually but only 12% goes for recycling. The rest part is simple enlarges the landfill sites area. Such situation is caused by the lack of conditions for efficient work of the waste recycling branch, unadjusted national law and criminal world influence that covers tightly this sector. Besides the legal members have no access to financial funds such as 'Kyoto money' and recyclers and utilizers have to organize wastes delivery themselves and pay for it though according the law it is government’s responsibility.

This problem is an urgent problem now due to the power crises. Analysts consider Ukraine is able to meet its power sources requirements with waste recycling. Bringing the market from the shadow will provide more work places, increase all level budget’s amount and reduce the environmental pollution.

To solve this problem it is necessary to unite the industry segment, the recycling plants, utilizers and community. This will help to control the market, separate the license holders from those who really works and create the conditions for implementing the suggestions that will increase the waste recycling efficiency, provide the environmental safety and the companies will be able to work legally and high level of responsibility and profit.
