Sharp fall in prices for wood pellets has been noticed in Switzerland in May 2015
Market operators connect this fact with the end of the heating season.
The average price for wood pellets ENplus A1 quality in May was to 372.3 Swiss francs, equivalent to 358.5 euros. Minimum price for 360.45 francs was recorded in the amount of 8 tons of supplies, maximum - 384.9 francs at a volume of 3 tons of supplies. Thus, the price reduction was 5.44% compared to April of this year and 10% compared to May last year. It must be noted that since the currency pair Swiss Franc - euro remains stable, then we can talk about the fall of prices in euro terms: compared with April, prices fell by 5.8%.
Analyzing last year's market trends, we can assume that stability of the Swiss franc will lead to stabilization of wood pellets price in June.
