The experts estimate that 80% of the produced pellets and briquettes in Ukraine are exported
The experts estimate that in 2011 Ukraine produced about 1- 1.2 million tons of biofuel. Ukraine has a potential which is estimated at 30 million tons per year.
The analysts predict a rise in the production of biofuel (including ethanol, biodiesel and solid fuel) to 10 million tons in 2015.
The main reason for the reorientation of the enterprises engaged in the production of fuel is the rise in price on oil and natural gas. Moreover, Ukraine has substantial resources and biofuel is produced in 20 different regions. The production of pellets and briquettes is well developed in the regions of the Carpathians.
It should be noted that at present more than 80% of biofuel produced by Ukrainian enterprises is exported. Ukrainian producers are willing to agree to sell the biofuel product in European countries where demand and prices in the fuel market are much higher.
