The prices of fuel granules in the EU break records
Back in May the prices for fuel granules in Germany and Austria began to grow rapidly. After a few months the rates of fuel in these countries approached the record figure 200 euro.
Today the cost of fuel pellets in Austria is 195 euro per ton (net), it is 14% more compared to 2012. As for Germany, the price of pellets in the country increased by 19% and reached 191 euro per ton. If to compare with August, in September the price of wood pellets in Austria and Germany rose by 1.5% and 1.3% respectively.
In Switzerland, unlike in Austria and Germany, the prices of pellets grow more steadily. Compared to 2012, the cost of solid biofuel in the country increased by 4%. In addition, the current average price of wood pellets in Switzerland is 212 euro per ton while in March the figure reached its record and amounted to 216 euro.
