Such facts were published by ARGE, that unites six Austrian biodiesel manufacturers.
As the facts indicate, it was produced 269 000 tones of biodiesel in 2014. In comparison with the last year the dimension of manufacture grew by 15% (35000 tones). Also 172000 tones were put to domestic market, but 97000 tones were put to export.
It should be noted, that Austrian biodiesel industry is developing invariably, contributing not only to climate but also creating new jobs. At the same time, special attention is paid to strict compliance with the requirements of the European legislation. In particular, raw material, used for manufacture, is produced in the European countries by 100% and its manufacturers have the appropriate certificates. Besides, the process of manufacture is under constant control of the environmental agency and the auditors, who audit the certification schemes, adopted by the European Commission.
Vegetable oils (73%), used cooking oils (17%) and animal fats (9%) are used for biodiesel production in Austria. Thus, a quarter of the Austrian biodiesel is produced from waste. On the whole, the manufacturers completely abandoned the use of palm oil.
Such situation is a general European trend of biodiesel production from waste and renewable sources of raw materials. At the same time, Austria is often a pioneer, that often requires special norms of investment, especially for the first-generation fuel production facilities.
ARGE: ARGE was established in 2006 and represents a certain concern of Austrian manufacturers of biodiesel, bioethanol and oil companies. The main task of ARGE is to coordinate the interests of manufacturers in relations with the state structures, the public and also public organizations of the appropriate profile.
