Husk sunflower pellet market: prices October 2014 - March 2015

In 2014, the volume of sunflower seed processing amounted just to 4.61 millions, which is twofold as less than the previous year. Naturally, it affected the production of one of the alternative fuels - sunflower husk pellets.

This issue of the Bulletin of Ukrainian Biofuel Portal pellets-wood.com is dedicated to the sunflower husk pellets price range. The issue covers the period from October 2014 to March 2015 and it provides more than 80 offers of sunflower husk pellets sales (34 offers by the producer and 47 offers by the  suppliers). It is worth mentioning that in the first quarter of the current year the average price for sunflower husk pellets fell by 7% compared to the average price in the fourth quarter of 2014.

 The basic features of the husk pellets offered:

• Diameter: 6-8 mm.

• Ash content: up to 3%

• Humidity: up to 8%

• Caloric value: 17.55-20.95 MJ/kg

• Package: bags 15-15 kg. in volume

There are also the prices quoted for the husk agglomerated throughout the regions and within the companies.
