A new electric power station situated in Dimona will use solar energy and biomass.
Avi Brenmiller, a former Head of Solel Company who quitted three years ago and established his own company called Brenmiller Energy, declared that the electric power station capacity will be of 10 megawatts. The electric power station will become the first establishment in the world using sunlight and capable of producing solar energy even throughout the night. The construction is valued at 300 millions of shekels.
The project is based on the innovative technology of saving energy, in order to carry out this project the company has been working during the last three years. On an annualized basis, the energy production will increase almost fourfold or probably more in comparison with another conventional electric power stations. As far as biomass is used as a spare source of raw material, a massive amount of produced electric power will be provided with the help of renewable sources of energy.
According to sir Brenmiller, - "A common use of accumulator systems and biomass proves to be the best solution to the production of energy in Israel. Biomass in itself is not capable of satisfying power consumption, but in combination with solar energy it is the cheapest and ecologically clean alternative to the traditional sources of energy."
