China finished 2014 by reducing the volume of vegetable oils import

According to official statistics the total amount of import in December has decreased by 20%

During the last quarter of 2014 it has been imported 2, 1 millions of tonnes of vegetable oils. Last year the indices reached 2, 72 millions of tonnes of the output.

However, if we proceed to examining the indices in-depth, we can note that in some cases the import volume has decreased twofold and even threefold. In particular, in December 41 thousands of tonnes of soya oil have been imported against 90 thousands of tonnes imported during a similar period in the last year. Besides, Argentine and Brasil were as usual the principal countries-exporters.

In December it has been delivered 0, 63 millions of tonnes of palm oil. In December 2013 this index was equal to 0, 68 millions of tonnes. In Indonesia 329 thousands of tonnes of vegetable oil out of this volume have been bought up, in Malaysia – 296 thousands of tonnes.

The volumes of rape oil deliveries showed the most significant fall, having reduced to 89 thousands of tonnes in the last year in December and to 32 thousands of tonnes in December 2014.

On the one hand this situation is due to the increase of oil-bearing crops processing in a territory of China, on the other hand - the active use of vegetable oils stocks generated by a slackened pace of the development of the Chinese economy.
