Germany increases the export of wood pellets

Germany as one of the largest producers of wood pellets is going to increase the export of wood pellets. Raw material is continuously rising in cost and demand in domestic markets for high price of pellets falls.

At this point, Germany exports 40% of the pellets, the remaining 60% are allocated to the needs of the country. According to the analysts, companies in this direction are not working at full capacity (90%), producing 3 million tons of pellets annually, and the power of individual companies ranges from 10 000 to 260,000 tons per year.

The producers of wood pellets complain that state tax policy is not conducive to the promotion of their business. The rapid increase in commodity prices forced them to increase the cost of pellets, which resulted in a noticeable decrease in the demand for biofuel products in the country.

In order to recuperate the money for the purchase of raw materials and the actual production of wood pellets, the producers are planning to increase export sales of wood pellets by 10%.
