Green energy: NERC approved the tariffs of October 2013

The National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), which regulates the domestic energy industry, during the regular meeting decided not to change the October tariffs for electricity produced of renewable resources.

As a result, the cost of electricity generated by solar power plants is 505.09 kopecks per 1 kW/h, while the tariff for electricity generated with solar electric installations placed on the roofs and facades of buildings is 463 kopecks per 1 kW/h. Today the cost of electricity generated by biofuel power plants is 134,46 kopecks per 1 kW/h, the energy produced by small hydro power stations is 126.77 kopecks per 1 kW/h, the tariff for wind energy is 122.77 kopecks per 1 kW/h.

According to UNIAN, as of year-end 2012 the domestic power plants operating on renewable energy sources produced 815.9 million kW/h of electricity, this indicator is more than two times grater than the one in 2011. Solar energy became the leader by the growth of the production volume, as well as by the amount of generated energy.

Compared to 2011, in 2012 the solar power plants increased electricity supply to the mains by 11 times (from 30.1 million kW/h to 333.6 million kW/h), the wind power stations increased this indicator by 2.9 times (from 89 million kW/h to 257.5 million kW/h), the power plants operating on solid biofuels increased it by 1.8 times (from 9.6 million kW/h to 17.7 million kW/h).
