A massive transition to solid fuel boilers by the local residents have led to this. As far as the stocks dwindle, the residents try to purchase pellets on the entire territory of Monroe County, the State of Pennsylvania.
The personnel of Stoves n’ Stuff shop in Stroudsburg claim that the constantly increasing bills for heating facilitate the growth of solid boilers sales. Peter Catanese, the deputy manager finds it natural, for everybody wants to save money and to find an alternative source of heat. "During eight years of my job, this winter turned out to be the most strained. We attempt to satisfy the demand and during the past few months we’ve managed to sell hundreds of stoves. Solid fuel stoves help save money and prove to be a good long-term investment notwithstanding its gradually decreasing value", says he.
Unfortunately, it is easier to satisfy the demand for boilers than the demand for pellets. At present demand significantly exceeds supply. The residents are compelled to go to other regions in search of pellets.
Karen Zaharias claims that she phoned the entire district and finally was obliged to go to the contiguous towns. Terence Matias agrees with her. "During two weeks I could not find them at all, and consequently I was compelled to go to New Jersey".
The shop managers assert that the increased demand will persist until it gets warm.
