Over the past 6 years, the volume of investments of IKEA in alternative energy has reached $ 1.5 billion. More 600 million euros will be spent in the near future on the development of projects in the field of photovoltaics and wind energy. The remaining 400 million will be spent in support of the people affected by natural disasters.
CEO explains such intention that the investments in ecological projects are advantageous to IKEA, to its clients and climate as such. Thus the company management consider alternative energy to give an opportunity to provide power independence of business.
It should be noted that last year the company's net profit was 3.3 billion euros, with the main share of sales belonging to Europe with the fixed growth in China and the United States.
