Viridis energy Inc. has bought a huge plant on the manufacturing of wood pellets from one Canadian company. The plant is located in Nova Scotia (Canada). Its annual production capacity is estimated at 110,000 tons of wood pellets.
According to the director of the British company Viridis energy Inc., the transaction cost it $ 2.5 million. In short term the export of pellet at this plant has already increased by 19,000 tons.
The favorable geographical position of the purchased plant makes it easy to deliver pellets to the Canadian east coast and to the EU.
Viridis has developed an organized system of links with the customers and suppliers of raw materials for production of wood pellets. The main consumers of wood pellets are the EU countries in which the EU has passed the law stating to increase the share of renewables in the energy sector.
Viridis plans to further increase production capacity by using additional raw materials and human resources. New effective technology of the production of wood pellets is considered.
Meanwhile, the company is holding talks with the major transport corporations of Canada for the export supply of wood pellets.
