Increasing level of waste volume is a huge problem nowadays. This brings Enerkem Inc. to share its exclusive waste-to-biofuels technology with 3 big Chinese companies, signed following agreements: on October 27 memorandum of understanding with Shanghai Environmental Group Co. Ltd., a municipal solid waste (MSW) company and subsidiary of Shanghai Chengtou Holding Co. Ltd. and an agreement with Shanghai Marine Diesel Engine Research Institute. Next day brought another agreement with Qingdao City Construction Investment Group Ltd. The main goal of above mentioned agreements was developing a project partnership to collaborative development chemicals and msw-to-biofuels enterprises.
As senior vice-president Tin Cesarek announced that Enerkem will provide its partners with all legal rights to use its technology, noticing that it will help China to solve the increasing waste volume problem and partially replace petroleum with clean fuels.
The request for such technologies is extremely high and Enerker as a low-cost producer has big advantage. Many company partners are highly interested in producing ethanol, still there are a lot of options in producing other types of chemicals or biofuels. By the way, Enerkem plans to cooperate not only with China but also with US and Canada.
