Europe will stop buying Ukrainian rape

The European Commission intends to cease by 2020 whatever subsidization of alternative fuel production in the EU. This decision was issued in the draft resolution, the information about it was published in the German edition "Die Welt". European Commissioners agreed that from 2020 the subsidies will be issued only on biofuels from algae, bio and agricultural wastes, at the same time the production of biofuels of food crops, as well as those which cause the increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere will not be subsidized.

According to experts’ opinion, such decisions will definitely cause full disappearance of the most common fuel types (for example so popular in Germany fuel blend E10) from the European gas stations. It is assumed that currently used alternative resources will be replaced by fuel of biowastes, which are not of any value as food. For information: some time ago the organization Nuffield Council on Bioethics, which specializes in ethical issues in biology, called the European authorities not to encourage the production and consumption of biofuels. They affirm that the usage of this energy source leads to a serious harm to the environment and causes the increase of prices for food. 

It should be noted that Ukraine is the largest exporter of rapeseed crop to the EU. For the time being its main importers are Poland (325,000 tons), France (230,000 tons), the Netherlands (168,000 tons), Belgium (104,000 tons) and Germany (65,000 tons). Obviously, the volume of oil crop supplies from Ukraine directly depends on the demand from European countries. 

We recall that last year the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich signed the law according to which there will be a phased increase of ethanol in gasoline in the country.
