In Mirgorod 2 million dollars were allocated for building the boiler-house running on straw

The boiler-house operating on straw pellets will be built in Mirhorod under the project USAID (United States Agency for International Development). As the mayor Sergei Solomaha told to the journalists, according to preliminary calculations, the construction budget will be about 2 million dollars. It is expected that this project will start the boiler heating about 10% of local homes and social facilities.

As Solomaha informed, the total estimate of the project implies that 200 thousand UAH will be allocated from the city budget, 2 million UAH will come from the regional budget and the remaining funds will be provided by foreign investors. The project implementation period will be 2-3 years.

According to Elena Adamovich, the Director of the Economic Development Department of Poltava Regional State Administration, if the pilot project is implemented successfully then the boilers running on solid biofuels will be built throughout the whole region. At the same time, the center of alternative energy resources is planned to be established in the city.

Today the independent agency of the U.S. federal government USAID is responsible for providing non-military aid to other countries. In Ukraine the mission of the agency is to help the country to move towards a market economy and democracy.
