Moldova will receive a $ 15 million grant for the installation of solid fuel boilers

Japan will allocate the amount as a grant to Moldova. These funds should be used for the development of the project on the efficient use of solid fuels of biomass.

Grant Agreement with Japan on this project has already been signed by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasily Bumacov, authorized by the government. Moldova will have to invest for this project about 17.5 million lei.

During the project implementation they plan to install boilers for solid fuels from biomass in 25 villages of Moldova. Such equipment will be installed in kindergarten, schools and hospitals.

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will follow for the implementation of the project from the part of Japan. This organization has allocated funds for the grant, and also developed a feasibility study for its realization.

In Moldova the implementation of the Japanese project of installation of solid fuel boilers for biomass will organize 2KR. The actions of this organisation will observe the Ministry of Agriculture of Moldova.

The aim of the project is to improve the standard of living in rural areas of the country, as well as the implementation of sustainable heating system. Within this project also will be created a plant producing briquettes and solid fuel boilers.
