According to experts’ data, the reduction of prices on the market of unrefined sunflower oil on FOB delivery terms was approximately 35 dollars per tone. The downward price tendency on the world market of vegetable oils and other associated markets as well as some macroeconomic factors are the main reasons of the current situation with prices.
Thus at present the offers connected with purchasing sunflower oil on FOB delivery terms contain the range of prices between 1130 and 1135 dollars per tone (the delivery date in November). At the same time, the rates of such production from Ukrainian trade companies are not less than 1145 dollars per tone (FOB).
The activeness of signing new foreign economic contracts in conditions of the recessing market is assessed by experts as "low". The majority of purchasers don’t accelerate the process of signing their agreements as they are waiting for the prices to reach their lowest level.
It should be mentioned that one week before the purchase prices for Ukrainian vegetable oil were within the range of 1190-1195 dollars per tone (FOB). According to experts’ forecast, the export of Ukrainian sunflower oil in 2012/13 marketing year will be 3,2 mln tones.
