Google is considered the IT-leader in green energy

The Greenpeace organization acknowledged IT-company Google as the leader among all media companies focused on the atmosphere protection. Cisco and Ericsson follow Google.

Google scored 53 points out of 100, and two other companies got 49 and 48 points accordingly.
Such well-known brands as Apple and Facebook are not included in the rating. Apple never takes the initiative in the matter of ecological problems and conservation of alternative energy sources. Facebook has still not shown any outstanding achievements in this regard.

The experts note that the ranking was compiled on the basis of 3 criteria:
1) use of environmentally amicable information technology;

2) use of alternative energy sources by the company;

3) an active social policy on the promotion of alternative energy sources.

Holders of the second and third places in the ranking are considered the most efficient companies to develop environmentally safe IT-solutions. Google encourages the involvement of renewable energy in use by applying 20% of energy got from the alternative sources.
