According to agricultural sector analysts’ estimation, rapeseed and soybean harvest in 2013 in Ukraine will be around 2.3 million and 3 million tons respectively. About 1 million tons of rapeseed were exported from Ukraine within three months. As a result, the experts predict that there will not be any stock of this crop left in Ukraine by the New Year.
During trading the starting price of rape was 4200 UAH per ton, then it was reduced till 3,200 UAH per ton. Thus, in August the country exported 566 tons of rape crop.
Annually the increase of soybean crop constitutes 10-20%. In 2013 there were processed about 650 tons of soybeans in Ukraine. It is planned that in a few years this indicator will reach 1 million tons. This crop is primarily used in poultry and livestock. Experts also added that Ukrainian agricultural sector has the potential allowing to increase the yield of rapeseed till 3 million tons and soybean up to 5 million tons within several years.
