New Renewable Energy Plant in Sleaford will reduce the discharge of CO2 by 150,000 tonnes

Renewable Energy Plant in Sleaford with the capacity of 38 MW will start to work In 2014. Investments in the manufacturing of the plant are equal to multi-million pounds. Electricity from the plant will be used to power 65,000 homes which use sustainable energy sources. Due to the operation of new renewable energy plant 150,000 tonnes of CO2 will be saved each year.

Also the new renewable energy plant will provide about 250 working places during manufacturing and 80 working places when it will start operating.

The overage energy will be used to provide heating for different facilities of Sleaford such as football club, bowling center and public swimming pool. Also the office of North Kesteven District Council will be heated by the surplus energy from the plant. The use of exceed amount of energy will increase the efficiency of the renewable energy plant.

The main raw material for combustion at the plant is straw, which is a by-product of production of wheat. The vindicated technology of the plant is destined to ensure the efficient and clean combustion of straw.

The owner of the Sleaford Renewable Energy Plant is Eco2 Lincs Ltd, which actively support the city. Also Eco2 Lincs Ltd is interested in improving the sustainability of the area in the sphere of environment and economics. The company conducted the long-term contracts with farms of the city and will finance the projects of the community.
