Wood Pellet Heating System Components
When installed, the wood pellet boiler as a biomass heating system is quite easy to manage. Pellets are usually brought in trucks and unloaded into a grain silo or any other kind of tank that is located in the yard. By the means of auger system, certain amount of wood pellets, determined by the settings, is automatically discharged from the bin and conveyed into the boiler.
Sequence of Operations
As a rule, a storage tank is connected to an auger system, through which pellets move to the fuel hopper. Then, the fuel supply system passes a certain quantity of pellets regulated by the settings into the combustion space. The combustion chamber is ventilated by force of the combustion fan and the combustion gases are ducted through a back board port to the chimneystack. From time to time the ash pan hopper needs clearing and this is done through the ash pan door.
Assembly of Equipment
Assembly of the boiler is typically completed prior to its delivery; nevertheless, on-the-job assembly is possible. For instance, the installation process goes easier, when such details as the fuel hopper are temporarily dismantled.
Combustion Space and Fire Hole Door
This is the space for pellets burning and heat production. The fire hole door provides access for its clearing and maintenance.
Combustion Fan
The fan bricks up the fire inside the combustion space.
Primary Regulation
The main function of the regulator is to old the temperature balance. It provides boiler and exhaust temperature readings information, as well as the information on the pellets and air flow.
Delivery and Storage
For commercial purposes this sort of fuel is usually bought and delivered by wholesale. It can be stored in a specially designed silo but grain or animal feed silos will also do.
Fuel Hopper & Supply System Functions
The fuel is automatically delivered directly into the fuel hopper. Then, at a set rate the fuel supply system conveys the pellets into the boiler.
