In 2016 the production of oil-bearing crops by Ukrainian agrarians was 18,7 mln MT in the first records. The market players point out the production increase due to the record-breaking growth of sunflower compared to 2015, by 121,6 % and estimated 13,5 mln MT. Besides Ukrainian agrarians reaped 1,1 mln MT of rapeseed and 4,1 mln MT of soya.
As the marketers of Ukrainian Biofuel Portal pellets-wood.com point out the Ukrainian companies increased the level of capacity in processing sunflower seeds that enabled them to increase production capacity and sunflower oil export compared to the previous period by 105%. At the same time the production of rapeseed and soya oil have dropped as the producers prefer sending rapeseed and soya to export taking the favour of export duties absence on these products.
For the beginning of the current year the production capacity allows to process 18 mln MT a year that is practically equivalent to the grown harvest. It is highlighted the increase soya processing capacity, estimated about 3,5 mln MT a year and rapeseed 2 mln MT pro rata.
Based on the given facts and the price increase on rapeseed and soya, one may assume that Ukrainian agrarians are to continue scaling up cultivated area for oil-bearing crop.
