It’s necessary for Ukraine to increase the volume of rape and soya processing

The association “Ukroliyaprom” thinks it’s necessary for Ukraine to increase its rape and soya processing volumes (AIC-Inform).

This was said by the general director of the association Stepan Kapshuk within a roundtable discussion “Ukrainian oil crop harvest in 2012”.

In his opinion, the necessity to implement such kind of policy is directed to giving up the dependence of the Ukrainian oil market from sunflower crop exclusively.

Mr. Kapshup considers it’s much more reasonable to create combined production companies instead of mono-crop production ones. This way there will be a chance to switch over to this or that oil crop depending on the market needs.

He also said, that for today 11 specialized companies dealing with soya have already been founded, and 8 combined companies which may process soya (according to technological regulations) are functioning.

In general according to “Ukroliyaprom’s” forecast, in 2012/2013 the production capacity of the Ukrainian companies processing sunflower seeds will rise till 12,238 mln tones per year (including 0,439 mln – thanks for reconstruction and modernization of current plants and by 2,66 mln tones – thanks for creating new companies).

The production capacity at the mentioned period will be increased from 1,993 till 2,448 mln tones (by 0,235 mln tones – thanks for modernization and by 0,22 mln tones – thanks for creating new companies).

As for rape, according to to “Ukroliyaprom’s” forecast, by the next season its production capacity will be increased from 1,324 till 1,357 mln tones thanks for creating new plant in Cherkasskiy region.
