Boeing-737 of the Chinese airline company Hainan Airlines has cruised from Shanghai to Beijing, used the mix of jet fuel and biofuel produced from recycled cooking oil as a fuel.
Vice President of the airline company Pu Min said this fact demonstrated that biofuels could become clean and efficient fuel resources for China.
The cooperation between the Boeing Company and the Commercial Aircraft Corp, which developed options for alternative aviation fuel since 2014, made this flight possible.
Unfortunately, the massive use of this biofuel in the aviation industry is not possible yet. The reason is the dishonesty of the local entrepreneurs who collect waste cooking oil and then after primary purification re-direct it to the shopping network.
But sooner or later, these technologies will be implemented due to strong growth of air transport in China. According to the representatives of the Boeing Company the number of aircraft involved in domestic and international flights in China will reach 6020 units by 2033.
